About Us

Josh Stephens
In ten years as a teacher and college counselor Josh has worked with hundreds of students across the United States and around the world. Josh's students routinely gain admission to their their first- and/or second-choice colleges.  Past students currently attend nearly every top-ranked college in the US, including Harvard, Princeton, Yale, MIT, Stanford, Duke, Penn, and many others.

Josh holds an English degree from Princeton University and studied public policy at Harvard University's Kennedy School of Government. He began his teaching career at the Archer School in Los Angeles and, for the past five years, has served as the lead editor at Application Boot Camp with his mentor Michele Hernandez. (This workshop is unaffiliated with Application Boot Camp.)

A journalist by trade, Josh helps students draw out their best stories and their deepest ideas. He has worked with students on every continent and from all backgrounds, helping them demonstrate to colleges that their worldview and life experience will contribute to the kind of stimulating environments that American colleges seek to engender.

Josh will be assisted by a team of experienced editors.

Goh Su Fen

Recently graduated from Raffles Institution, Su Fen is now a freshman at Princeton University, Class of 2015. She lives in HamiltonHall, Mathey College - home to the Dining Hall and near the one-and-only Blair Arch. In her free time, she enjoys building scale model AFVs, reading Organic Chemistry, learning Sumerian, modding computer games and skyping her pet frog, which resides in Singapore. She didn't score straight A's for either her Promos or Prelims and thus considers herself living proof that essays play an extremely important role in college admissions. Having beat the odds in the most competitive year in the history of college admissions, Su Fen is now determined to help other students in Singapore find similar success by teaming up with Josh to start The College Consultants.
